Linortek Adds Calendar Scheduling Function to Netbell Bell System Software

Popular network break bell system now has calendar scheduling feature for more flexible bell scheduling with built-in real time clock (RTC) Synchronizing with NTP server

Linortek announced today that it has expanded the feature set for its Linortek Netbell bell controller, adding a calendar feature to boost its functionality as a school bell system. Netbell is a simple, cost effective timed alert solution. The new calendar scheduling feature allows for more flexible bell scheduling.

“We work closely with many schools,” said Gary Nalven, CEO of Linortek. “The feature emerged from a need that we kept hearing from our customers. Most schools have some special days that need to run different schedules. Examples include teach work days, assemble days and holidays. Our calendar scheduling feature can meet those special needs.” Linortek leveraged its experience as a maker of factory break buzzers and work break timers to update Netbell for schools.

Netbell’s appeal is due partly to the fact that all of its functionality is local to the board. There is no additional software or dedicated computer equipment required. Customers can use any computer on the network to remotely access the Netbell webpage with a standard browser. It is easy to program and can be ported to the internet if needed. Users can link remote units to the master unit to provide one schedule that rings all units without any home run wiring to master controller. This keeps the cost lower than competitors and allows complete customization.

In addition to the calendar, Linortek’s Netbell has a built-in real time clock (RTC) for standalone use and the ability use an NTP server when connected to a network. This feature allows users to pull the time from an internet NTP server, or even their own internal NTP server. Users can set the NTP update frequencies, which will give them the most accurate time for ringing the bells.
